Techniques taught: The creative possibilities at this location are endless! We'll experiment with longer shutter speeds to show motion in the water and shorter shutter speeds to "freeze" the action of the incoming waves. This area is fantastic for capturing interesting reflections in tide pools and using the many rock formations as foreground elements to create depth in our photos. We'll also experiment with exposure bracketing in order to balance exposure in a high dynamic range scene.

Circular Polarizer, Graduated Neutral Density & Solid Neutral Density Filters are nice to have, but are not required. This location is great to photograph with a wide angle lens. The rocks along the shore can be slippery at times so a good pair of shoes/boots that you don't mind getting wet are important.

  • Hiking description It's an easy walk from the parking lot. Once at our location the terrain might be a little uneven on the rocks.
  • Special equipment needed Circular Polarizer, Graduated Neutral Density & Solid Neutral Density Filters are nice to have, but are not required.
